Staff, departments and teams need morale boosting and teambuilding is an excellent way of enhancing corporate staff morally and improving group dynamics and communication. People can feel motivated not only by personal gain or having achieved something, but can also let them feel part of the business and contributing to its goals. Therefore leaders should be motivating staff effectively to engage the workforce to build commitment; quality and quantity which will then improve the business!

Teambuilding allows leaders to enable that group of people to reach their goals, it is an intervention to help your staff become an effective team and remain effective. Improve group dynamics and communication when the going gets tough!!

Teambuilding is a great way of getting people together in a stimulating environment it’s an exciting concept, because it is the basis of success for the organisation. Building teams has worked very well and is an accepted part of any overall company morale policy and indeed in many cases part of Mission Statements and values.

When a work environment is put under pressure and stress, teambuilding is a tool for improving employee motivation to get them on track. We all know it’s tough, but businesses must go on and those employed must work harder even harder in tough situations, team building will help staff understand the nature of group dynamics in regards to effective teamwork. There are many messages that need to be effectively put across by management in these turbulent times so with some exciting challenges it will bring team motivation.

So paint a picture, build a chariot, do a treasure trail, whatever suits your team! It’s a buyer’s market even in the events industry and there are plenty of deals to grab. Inject some fun into your business!

Teambuilding activities can improve communication, make the workplace more enjoyable and improves team productivity. It also allows employees to instil a sense of working together to achieve a goal. Goals need to be designed to allocate employees to pull together and reach the target mutually; it’s a sense of achievement and most of all allows staff to get to know each other by communicating together.

Good activities balance the act of fun achievement. Indeed, some activities can offer the chance to succeed a number of times over a short period, greatly emphasising the positive thinking mentality. The exercises can consist of a variety of tasks designed to develop group members to build their ability to work together effectively.

So is teambuilding the answer then? Well maybe a part of it for sure, some may agree, some may not. Building a company vision and culture starts at the top, but it can certainly be helped to encourage and engender the ‘i can do it’ attitude that is required for consistent positive thinking in the workplace. Team building gets people motivated, keeps their outlook positive and emphasizes the true spirit of team work! Get involved and see the results yourself….!

A leader’s goal in a work environment is to promote employee engagement and positive attitudes to thinking. Done well it can help the team be more effective and most importantly make your team be in a place that people look forward to being part of!

Promoting team building in an organisation is said to be a proven way to help develop or strengthen your biggest asset. Engage your staff to think positively about their work and reach the goals they desire. Many businesses adapt this process of getting the team together and take on exciting activities, but some can be sceptical not only of the value, but also of the cost to do any sort of teambuilding exercises.

So do these two go hand in hand? What price do you put on positive thinking? Does it just happen or do you have to facilitate it? Does teambuilding promote positive thinking!?

Britain is facing its worst financial crisis of any advanced nation. All around us the papers and TV are filled with gloom and doom that this brings. We ask ourselves- when will it end? Will it all be okay? For sure many staff, including yours, is feeling very anxious about not only the global situation, but more personally about how it affects their own situation, in particular their employment prospects and security.

It strikes us that at some point many companies, small medium or large, who have managed to survive in this economic climate , will start to fight back against the bad news and thereby start to help their employees begin their own individual fight back. After all, employees are the lifeblood of a company and are their number one asset, without whom success is unachievable.

However, this change can only be accomplished by communicating this new positive attitude to employees- is it that time now?

Instructions:
Have each one of the player’s think of the name of a famous person and secretly write it on a post-it note. Keeping it hidden, stick the post-it on another player’s forehead. Each player takes a turn asking questions to try and figure out who the celebrity is stuck on their head. The only questions that can be asked are yes or no questions. Example: Am I a movie star? Am I dead? Am I male? ect. If a player gets a “yes” answer, he or she gets to ask another question. If they get a “no” answer, it is the next players turn. Each player can guess their name at anytime, but if they guess wrong it is the next players turn. Keep playing until all players have guessed their celebrity properly.
Stranded on the Island
Summary:
An ecxcelent team building game that helps players learn about each other’s values as well as their problem solving methods. This icebreaker promotes team building ideas. Players are to make believe they are stranded on a desert island and have to decide what items they can take with them. This activity is good for all ages and any size group.
Instructions:
This team buildin game can be changed to fit most any size group. Larger team can be broken down into groups with the players on the team choosing what items the team would take with them if stranded on a desert island. The amount of items can also be chosen depending on time and how many teams. Usually 5 items or less is a good number. For smaller groups every player can do the same. After the items are chosen, either the team or the individual player tells what he or she chose and why. The rest of the team can ask questions about why they chose those items and discuss the pros and cons of their choices.
The Cord Game
Summary:
This team building exercise helps team members learn more about each other and brings them closer together. It is good for smaller groups of all ages.
Needed: Scissors, cord and or string.
Instructions:
Have the host or hostess of the group cut the string or cord into different lengths. Be sure to have enough pieces, one for each player. The players choose them from the host or hostess’s hand not knowing the length. The players then reveal one piece of information about themselves for each wrap the string goes around one finger. Players take turns until everyone is finished. This ice breaker is short and simple, but don’t think that it will bring fewer results than other more elaborate team builders.
Team building games can be very easy to implement yet very effective. In short amoun of time you can turn a brand new group of participants into a strong team, with a common purpose in mind.

If you’re looking to build teams, one of the most efficien ways to do it is through team building games. They offer a more relaxed atmosphere to get the point of team building across. As we know the mind can absorb more information in a relaxed state as opposed to a tensed environment. The advantage of team building games is that exercise can be very simple or at least seem easier for the members of theteam.
In recent times companies have migrated toward the use of games to build strong, productive and long lasting teams. These games can be employed with very little time. And can be applied to groups of all size age and cultures.
Here are 3 of our one of our favorite team building games.
Guess My Name Game
Summary:
The Guess My Name game is an easy icebreaker that can be played almost anywhere. This team building event is especially good for smaller team. Each player writes a name of a famous person and the others try to guess who it is.
